Sleep – or not as the case may be

It’s been a long while since I wrote about the reality of sleep in our house and we’re still not “sleeping through the night” in the way that everyone that asks means. However we are no longer sleeping for only 2 or 3 hours at a time instead we are doing longer and longer stretches.
Last week we moved T into her own bed instead of a cot with the hope that this would help. Our newish problem is that when she wakes in the night she then won’t go back to sleep in her cot – now I have nothing against co-sleeping but what happens when she stays in our bed is that instead of J jumping in at 5 and going back to sleep is that he jumps in and T wakes up and won’t go back to sleep and pokes J until he starts to play with her as well… at which point everyone is up for the day at 5 or 5:30.
If T goes back to sleep in her bed then she will sleep till 6 or even 7 (YEAH it’s a lay in!) and J will come in at 5 and go back to sleep until our alarm goes off. So we moved her into her own bed at 15 months old. We can lie beside her and cuddle her back to sleep if she wakes up.
If she asks for Milk or BOT then we can easily give her some in her bed laying down and she will then roll over and go back to sleep – now we just need to remember not to bring her in with us so that we are comfortable.
At the moment it seems to be going ok. I’m getting more sleep than I have in a long time – but I have almost 3 years of no sleep because of pregnancies, babies, more pregnancy and more babies to catch up on at the moment coffee is my best friend.
