Groups

So come the Autumn Term I really want to take Little Tiger to a Gymnastic’s type group locally so that he can get a good run around, play as well as learn about following instructions from someone other than myself.
But it has really got me thinking – a year ago it would have been easy. I would have booked the group and we would have gone along to it but that we before Tinkerbell came along. Now I’ve got this added bit what do I do with her. Chances are the groups won’t fall when she’s napping (as that is all over the place), she won’t sit in her push chair, she’s much too nosey and wants to be in the middle of it all and I can’t be with him whilst he’s doing gymnastics and holding her at the same time (accident waiting to happen!).
So what can I do? The facilities generally won’t have a creche to put her in, but LT needs something to expell more energy. Ideas in the comments below please.

Most places do a trial and I would do that first and see how you all get on. T is probably still young enough to sit and watch to begin with as there will be a lot of noise. When I took M to Ballet for I, I always found if I set up an area for her with some toys it attracted other kids to play with her and she wasn’t bothered not to take part
If there is a Tumble Tots in your area, give it a try. We have lots of mums who bring little siblings along to sessions. Bring your pushchair as T may well sit in it for a bit and you can move her around a bit with you. Also a rug and some toys works fine while she’s not too mobile, and some mums find a sling or backpack a good way to leave their hands free.
There will always be plenty of staff so if you needed to see to little one, they can either help Little Tiger over something or get him to wait for you.
As Anna suggested, go for a trial and see what you think.
You can search for local sessions at http://www.tumbletots.com
I can’t help sorry as W only 8 months but just wanted to say Little Tiger=So Cute! x
I agree, most places offer a trial – see how it goes.
Good luck x
I took my youngest along to a gym class for his bigger sister. The staff were great and understanding and little one would sit and watch, move around with big sis, be held by me etc. Groups for little ones are often v accomodating for younger siblings – after all they are possible future members! Good luck x
