It’s finally the start of half term and one of our jobs as always is to work on the garden

And of course gardening now means with our little helpers – J in particular is starting to love being out in the garden gardening with us and here he’s found my gloves and wearing them

I’m very much follow the child’s lead and J is showing an interest in letters so over on Rainy Day Mum we are doing lots of Letter and prewriting activities

T and I have the day together so we got some paper onto the floor and sat together and spent a while doodling on the floor with our pens

Yes the house is mine but it was a lot of fun doodling together – the paper is just the masses of it that you get in a Amazon parcel – we save it and use it for just this purpose.

We’re been baking again and this time some Valentines Day cookies to share with our friends

Using simple sugar cookies recipe – we decorated with pink icing the kids ones are on the green plate and the ones that I made on the purple plate. The opinion YUM YUM YUM

I don’t win things often – probably cause I don’t enter things often so I was really excited to win a pamper pack from Nurturestore blog. Ful of £75 (yes really £75) worth of Sanctuary Pamper goodies I’m in heaven.

Yes I know the picture is in reverse (anyone got an idea how I can stop the Nexus camera from turning everything around) so far I have used the hand cream (yes I’m not good at taking care of myself – maybe I should have that as a March Goal)

We’re trying different things this year to eat and today it was a pork chop dinner.

With none cheese pesto (yes hubby hates cheese!) this was delicious but like always I find it a little fatty – chicken is my favourite meat

Yep the one that you all had commented on the other week from my project 365 pictures that I should have changed into a canvas so I went through the process.

You need a good quality picture as the canvas is large luckily my camera takes most pictures in high quality and they are of a substantial size when downloaded from the camera so they are perfect for turning into a large canvas – if you mainly use your phone camera then a smaller size of canvas would work.

The order process is very simple and they provide the option of turning old photo’s in print form into canvas’s as well – wouldn’t it be great to have a picture of your parents wedding day done as an anniversary gift on canvas next big anniversary! Once the picture is upload you fill in your details and that is it.

The turn around was amazing within a couple of hours I had a tracking ID and the parcel with the canvas was on it’s way here arriving by courier so I knew it wouldn’t be damaged in any way.

The only problem that we had is that we don’t have picture hooks or hanging equipment so before we could put it up a quick trip to B&Q and we had it hanging on the wall. It’s wonderful and something that we will do again with HelloCanvas once we have the perfect picture of T.

Delicious cherry and fruit scones recipe perfect for an afternoon tea or even as a snack. Serve hot with clotted cream and homemade strawberry jam.

Ingredients for Cherry Fruit Scones Recipe

225g/8 oz self-raising flour
1 tsp baking powder
pinch of salt
40g/1 1/2oz butter cubed
15g/ 1/2oz sugar
150ml/ 1/4 pint milk
50g/2oz mixed dried fruit
8 small glace cherries chopped into quarters

Cherry Fruit Scones Recipe

Preheat the oven to 220C/425F Gas Mark 7 and grease a baking tray. Into a bowl sift the flour, baking powder and salt and then rub in the butter so that you get the mixture the consistency of  bread crumbs.

Add the sugar to the mix and stir then pour in the milk and mix to form a dough and turn out on a lightly floured surface and knead for a short while (this isn’t bread and the more you knead it the less the scones will rise). Then roll out until around 1/2 inch thick and cut using the round part of a pastry cutter.

Place on the baking tray and brush with some milk and then put in the oven for 12 – 15 minutes (depending on your oven), when cooked a lovely golden brown and then turn out onto a wire rack and eat.

Best eaten hot and with clotted cream and homemade Jam.
