A family life planner
The Family Life Book Diary from Organised Mum is a must for busy mums – and yes I really do mean that – I haven’t received this product to review I just love it so much that I can’t keep quiet about it. It’s a Family Life Planner with EVERYTHING and I do mean EVERYTHING that you could ever need all in one place from Organised Mum – they do deliver to the US as well – one of my blogging buddies Mama Smiles has just purchased it as well.
We are a family of 4 (plus the dog) and now with J in preschool we go different ways constantly. I’m also organising my life now trying to make the most of the time with the kids whilst they are young but also setting our life and home up for when I eventually return to work. The Family Life Book Diary is perfect – with a diary, Budgeting pages, Christmas planning section, Shopping Lists, To Do Lists and slip out address book it has everything you need to get on track and keep on track.
I sit down once a week with the planner (on a sunday) and sketch out the forth coming week’s meal plans so that I can write our shopping list to then get it delivered, the shopping lists are tear out so I can then easily take it to the computer and quickly order it for the week and then press deliver.
Each week is displayed across 2 pages with 7 columns plus a meal planning section and notes and to do lists so everyone has a column of their own plus family events (and I include my blog planning there as well), the budgeting I haven’t yet used it’s another of my 2013 goals is to better budget our everyday activities with the kids. I did use the Christmas planning this year and now have a christmas card list that I can transfer to next years book. I have added to it any cards that we received that I didn’t send a card back to so they will be included next year.
The address book is really handy – it’s removable so you can take it out fill it in and then slot it back in when needed. The family life planner also comes with stickers so you can easily identify special days – these are the standard organised mum stickers which I love (I also have a wall calendar and a menu planner/shopping list for the fridge from them) and come with things like birthday, anniversary, doctors, vets, mot etc… as well as reminders. So I can quickly flick through my planner I stick these in and can see when something I really need to remember crops up.
